A Taste of My Own Medicine

I was not going to post this, but it has given me a big laugh today so I thought I'd share. Today I ran errands and while I was out I bought new windshield wipers for our car. Later that day Jesse and I were going out to run another errand and we brought the windshield wipers out to the car to quickly attach them before we left. So I was sitting inside the car watching Jesse try REALLY, REALLY to attach the new wipers. I was giggling inside the car thinking "what is going on? why does he not know how to do this? It's a skill I thought boys were born with!" So I snapped a picture from inside the car of his failed effort. He gave up and got back in the car and I showed him the picture and jokingly said I was going to blog about how he couldn't figure out how to replace the windshield wipers. Still in my head I thought I was smart enough to finish the task, so I took the blades and went back outside the car and tried to attach them myself. Jesse was inside the car and obviously wanted to give me a taste of my own medicine because as I was loading the pictures from my camera onto the computer tonight I saw the second picture below of myself, which reveals my failed attempt to solve our problem while showing up my husband. Thank you Jesse for always making me laugh even if it's at my own expense. He always knows how to keep me grounded and expose my ridiculousness.

P.S. Just to relieve everyone's fears we do know how to attach these now. They aren't the slide in kind. We have to remove a screw first to get them in.

A Touch of Christmas

Like I said... Jesse and I decorated for Christmas this week and this is how it turned out.

Temple Lights

This weekend Jesse and I officially threw ourselves into the Christmas spirit. Friday night we went and walked around Temple Square to see all the Christmas lights. Then we went to Jesse's cousin's wedding, which was fun because we were able to see his grandparents and aunts and uncles. Saturday we went and got Christmas decorations and started decorating the apartment. We got our first Christmas tree and I'm loving how "Christmasy" our apartment looks and smells. We had a ward party Saturday night and that was fun to get together with friends in the ward and enjoy a good meal. Today we had church and then the first presidency's Christmas message was broad-casted. I love the Christmas devotional. Now I'm counting down the days until Christmas break when we get to spend time with our families again.

We went into a store and saw these awesome hats that have the Chile flag on it. We thought we'd take a pic and represent Trav

Family Pics

Over Thanksgiving break we took family pictures and here are some samples of my favorites. They turned out great and it's so nice to have updated pictures of all of us before Travis leaves to Chile on his mission. Enjoy!

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break was great and left me not wanting to come back to the Utah cold. This break was filled with fun events. We played volleyball a few times with a bunch a kids from Temecula. Jesse and the boys played basketball a couple times and played in the Turkey Bowl. We had Thanksgiving dinner at Jesse's house with his family and that was nice and relaxing with my favorite foods included. Thanksgiving does stress me out a bit only in the fact that I stress over not being able to fit everything I want to on my plate. After Thanksgiving dinner we went out to Mission Viejo with my family to visit my cousins. Paige and Charlene's birthday were on Friday. We went to Rosa's for lunch and did a little shopping after with the Eichelbergers. Then we went out for sushi, opened presents, and had cake with my family. We also took family pictures that day and I'm really excited to see how they turned out. Travis gave his farewell talk in church and then we had practically a million people crammed in our house after for food and visiting. Travis gave an amazing talk and is going to be such a great instrument for the Lord in Chile. I was sick most of the break and am still trying to recover. I had a sore throat, which is the worst sickness to have during the Thanksgiving holiday. Jesse did the Black Friday shopping thing a bit with his family and got amazing basketball shoes. I hate crowds because they make me really claustrophobic and angry at everyone, but it is tempting to go next year because of the great deals everyone got. All in all we got to spend lots of time with our families and we were sad to leave, but don't worry Christmas break is in 2 weeks! And two big things to look forward to are my graduation and Travis going on his mission in the same week.
