Busy Weekend

So the weekend was crazy and my pictures and posts prove that. From taking Travis to the MTC to graduating to Patrick's wedding to spending a snowy weekend in Midway with my in-laws it was an exhausting, but family-filled weekend. And if you know me you know I love my family time. Patrick's wedding was beautiful and it was fun to eat good food and visit with all of the family. I will say the highlight of the wedding was Grams being chased by a wild college boy who wanted her to dance with him. Classic! Patrick and Keri looked gorgeous and happy and Jesse and I are excited to have another married couple in the family join the group.

In Midway the snow never stopped, but I loved being able to visit with Jesse's parents and grandparents. They leave on their mission in January to England. The resort they live in was heavenly and my home-away-from-home there was the relaxation room. I definitely need one of those in my future home.

College Graduate.... LEGIT

After we took Travis to the MTC we drove to Rexburg so I could graduate. It was a great day and I definitely feel extremely accomplished and proud of myself. I can honestly say I tried my hardest in everything I was asked to do in the four years I attended BYU Idaho and I'm leaving with no regrets. I have loved every minute of my college education. BYU Idaho was a neat place to go. The teachers know your name and face and they care about you and how you are doing. You know the faces you see on campus and the small town feeling adds to the spirit on campus. We were the first graduating class to have the commencement ceremony in the new building which is a smaller replica of the conference center. It was amazing! The speaker was Marlin K. Jensen from the quorum of the seventy and his talk was motivating and reminded me how blessed we are being born into the covenant. The words that stuck with me are... growing up in the gospel we have experience in it's fullness the greatest institution on earth, the gospel of Jesus Christ. Also that we should not just be inheritors of the blessings Christ gives us, we should go further and be true disciples. Who wouldn't be motivated with those words. They make you realize all that you have and what a responsibility we have to now go and serve with a fullness of purpose and heart and newly gained education. Now I'm an alumni and loving it.

The Last Supper

The day has come and gone....Travis has entered the MTC in Provo and we have already received a letter and an email. The day Trav went into the MTC we all went to Brick Oven for lunch. We had a bitter-sweet time and Travis kept us laughing through lunch and we expected no less. We stuffed ourselves with pizza and home-made rootbeer. Then my parents, Jesse, Devin, and I took Travis to the MTC and said our goodbyes. I didn't cry or even feel the erg to because I am so happy with his decision and it was such a great day that we had all been waiting and praying for.

Coming Up . . .

Well this week is going to start the beginning of business that goes as follows...

Wednesday my mom, dad, and Travis fly into town in the morning so we can all say our last goodbyes to Travis and take him to the MTC. My parents will be here the rest of the week/weekend. Jesse's parents get into town that weekend also.

Friday/ Saturday I graduate from BYU Idaho and my family and Jesse's family are driving to Rexburg for those festivities.

Saturday night we are racing back to Provo to attend my cousin's wedding.

Sunday we take my parents back to airport so they can fly home.

Tuesday Jesse and I ride home to California with his parents to spend the Christmas break in Temecula with the family.

I can't forget to mention that this whole week is finals week for Jesse and the poor thing is really sick and struggling. So hopefully he can pull a rabbit out of the hat and keep a clear mind while taking the tests. Wish him luck with finals and me luck with graduating and entering into the REAL world. I can't wait (sarcastic).

Book Reviews

This book honestly was so hard to get through. I took me forever! Obviously you can conclude that it isn't a page turner then. It is supposed to be a classic so I thought I'd read it. I decided I'm not reading classics anymore just for the sake of saying I read a classic because half of the time they are so boring and I can't get through them. So I would not recommend this book.

The Help on the other hand was a page turner and inspiring and enlightening. I loved this book and got through it quickly. I think everyone should read it.
I just finished reading this book and I'm dying to read the second and third book the series. It was amazing. I had been postponing reading it because I hate reading series because they take over my life because you can't just read one and take a break. I end up reading all through the night every night just to see what happens next. Well I'm going through that again with this series, but I'm ok with it because it is so amazing! Love it!!!
Pope Joan is a book that many people have recommended to me lately and I am putting on my list to read right after I finish the Hunger Games series. I'll let you know how it goes. I hear that is a marathon read not a sprint read though...so we'll see.

About Me

I thought this was a cute personal survey I've seen on other people's blogs. Jesse suggest I edit this post and make it about him... quote: "you should make it 4 things I love about my husband, 4 things my husband is good at, etc." Really pathetic I know, but also really funny. He always keeps me laughing at his expense.

4 shows I watch:

1) Modern Family: it's like a modern day Friends to me. Makes me laugh almost as hard. I love every character.

2) Friends: always have and always will be my go to show. I have all of the seasons and watch them almost everyday. I'm seriously contemplating naming my children after each character.

3)Bachelor: can't wait for the new season January 3rd! I love seeing girls or guys fight for one person and make a fool out of themselves. Really entertaining.

4) Keeping up with the Kardasians: I know this show is trashy, don't judge me, but I honestly think Khloe, Kim, and Kourtney are hilarious. I love watching their relationships with each other.

4 things I'm passionate about:

1) Food: I'm not afraid to say I'm a garbage disposal and my day definitely revolves around when and what I'm going to eat.

2) Reading: I love reading especially while I'm taking a bubble bath. I love reading great books about other countries and their cultures. I'm obsessed with historical fiction and fascinated with the holocaust.

3) Family: everyone that knows me knows I love hanging out with my family 24/7. If given the choice I will hang out with my family over my friends any day. Everyone also knows my family is abnormally close and I love it that way. My mom, sister, aunts, cousins, and grandmas are my best friends hands down.

4) Traveling: I can't say I have traveled much, so I guess I'm passionate about the dream of traveling to foreign countries. I definitely dream of going to Greece, Jerusalem, and an Asian country.

1) What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger....I repeatedly have to tell myself that to get through trials

4) Keep an eternal perspective it makes marriage a little easier

4 places I would love to visit:

1) England.... we are in the process of planning a trip either this summer or next Christmas break

2) Greece... Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants made me fall in love with this place and have wanted to go ever since

3) Jerusalem... have always been interested in the culture over there and would love to see the church sites

4) Thailand... love the food and have loved reading about the culture. It looks beautiful there.

4 things I'm looking forward to:

1) Graduating from BYU Idaho next weekend! finally!

2) Christmas break and spending lots of time with the family

3) My brother going to serve his mission in Chile next week

4) Finishing the Hunger Games series over the break...so addicting

4 things I love about winter:

1) scarves... I love them and think they can add so much to a simple outfit

2) caramel apple cider...either home-made or from Starbucks

3) staying inside and keeping warm and reading a good book

4) Christmas and everything that goes along with it....movies, food, candles, decor
