I go to spend a couple of hours on Thursday watching my adorable new nephew. He was so easy and we just lounged at my house. He rolled around on the blanket and we watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meetballs. I can't believe how good was for me. I love that I am finally an aunt and that I have a nephew this close by.

I Love Summer
On Saturday Jesse and I took my brother and his friend and my sister and cousin to La Jolla. We layed out at the beach all day. I read my book and basked in the sun. Jesse and the boys body boarded. It as a perfect day and we had a blast. We went down to the tide pools even though it was high tide and we got some amazing pictures. We saw crabs and seals. It was fun just exploring down at La Jolla. Summers in southern California are hands-down the best. Family, friends, sun, books, and beaches. What more could I ask for?

Books, Books, Books!
I count down the days until summer every year so I can finally do what I love most which is reading. The time has come and I am definitely absorbed in my books. I love good summer reads. I am surrounded by family and friends who love to read which makes it that much more fun to read and talk about the books. I am always getting good book recommendations so I thought it was my turn to give some. I just finished reading this one:
This book captured me from the first page. You will not be able to put this book down. It's about a connection a French girl in a concentration camp in 1942 has with a woman living in France in the present day.

It is a lighter read than the first and not nearly as captivating, but still really good. The author does a great job of character development and setting up relationships between family members. There is a family tragedy, which I haven't learned about yet.

Lately
The wedding day has come and gone and things have mellowed out which is just how I like it. Marriage has not brought out any surprises yet because Jesse and I had already known each other for so long. I expected marriage to be this huge change and adjustment, but it is just the opposite. Take that however you want, but to me it's great. Being married has been relaxing and layed back and exactly what I hoped it would be. The only complaint I have is that we see each other a lot less now that we are married which is so ironic. Jess works full time and doesn't get home until 7:45 each night. Eww I know! I think we are the official babysitters/house-sitters for the summer. we have been jumping from one job to another.

Honeymoon
Jesse and I had a wonderful wedding day! I loved walking into our sealing room and seeing the faces of our family and friends that we love so much. The reception was a blast and we loved dancing the night away with all of our friends. My two best friends, Meg and Jessica, came down to be my bridesmaids and it made my day that much more special. We spent the first night of our honeymoon at La Costa. . . thanks to my aunt and uncle. Our room was outrageous and I wish that was our permanent residence. The rest of our honeymoon was spent on Coronado Island. I had never been before and I can't wait to go back. It is the cutest island with everything you need. We spent our time at the pool, exploring the island, shopping around in San Diego, and eating. On our last day we were able to go to the San Diego Zoo and Jesse decided that taking me to the zoo is like taking a kid to the zoo because everything there excited me. The honeymoon was relaxing and we had so much fun. I hate when vacations have to end!
