Thursday Thoughts

I've been sick for two days and am going stir-crazy being cooped up in the apartment all day while the sun is finally shinning outside my window, the grass is bright green, and tulips are sprouting up everywhere. I have realized the last two days that these things are essential to my sanity as I quarantine myself at home:

1. Vick's Vapor Rub
2. Hot baths
3. Doing puzzles with the hubs
4. Juice
5. Fruit Breezes throat lozenges
6. messy buns
7. antibiotics
8. a good book
9. Grandma's quilt
10. FRIENDS (the tv show)

Oh how the simple things in life keep us going.

Older and Wiser

Monday was my birthday, but since we were on the road all day we celebrated last night. We went to Texas Roadhouse with a bunch of friends and had great food. After dinner we went in the spa and relaxed. To end the night Jesse and I went home and watched one of my favorite movies, Enough. It has been a great birthday and my sweet husband bought me 9 books....he knows the way to my heart, and the best gift of all was the diamond band he got me to complete my wedding ring set. It's gorgeous and I could stare at it all day.

Typical us: me saying something important and Jesse laughing off to the side and not listening

Since it was my birthday I had to sit in a saddle and the restaurant gave me a big "yeehaww"

Extended Vacation part 2

Jesse finally got to Temecula and we enjoyed the rest of the weekend together with even more family time. We ate more than we probably should have that's for sure. PJ's new Kinect kept us entertained especially when we played sports on it boys vs girls. Easter was wonderful as usual. We had a big family dinner at the Finlayson's, then headed over to the Eichelberger's for a turkey dinner, and then on to the Arenas' for a steak dinner. We stuffed ourselves with amazing food and I was sung to twice for my birthday. Monday was my 23rd birthday and Jesse and I had to drive back to Provo so he could make it to classes. Driving all day on my birthday was not ideal, but long road-trips with Jesse always make me laugh. He got me In N' Out for lunch and Zupas for dinner. Tressa and Kira brought us yummy cupcakes and movies that night when we got home. It was a perfect birthday and I can't complain because I basically had a three week birthday at home where my parents spoiled my rotten. Tonight is the real celebration and I can't wait.

It's still freezing here in Provo. I was hoping it would be warm by the time I got back...no such luck. Note to self: never choose to live in a state where it gets this cold and snows.

Extended Vacation part 1

I have been at home for a couple of weeks now just soaking up time with my family while Jesse is at school finishing up and taking finals. There has been a lot going on since I've been home. We have had a lot of quality family time playing games, dancing to dance central, lounging at the beach, shopping in LA, watching movies, attending a wedding, and having lots of family dinners. I'm so grateful Jesse let me slip away to have a wonderful vacation before I have to get back up to Provo and get a full time job to provide for us while he finishes school. This vacation has definitely left me feeling rejuvinated.

Jesse gets here this week and we'll get to bask in the warm weather and family time together just like it should be. I'm crossing my fingers that he aces his finals. We will spend Easter here and then a long roadtrip back to Provo back to the routine of school and work. I'll also be crossing my fingers it'll be warm when we get back.

Here Comes the Sun, Little Darlin'

Thursday I was on a plane California bound and spent the weekend at the river with family and friends. Kira, Nicole, and I kept emphasizing how amazing the weekend was and how perfect the heat from the sun felt. We hadn't felt the sun in so long we had almost forgotten what 100 degree weather felt like. That's right 100 degrees! As the sun hit our skin we could literally see the pigment darken. The weekend was a little taste of heaven. The weekend was spent lounging in the sun.

Kira graced us with her amazing stunts We had a lot of fun girl time spent reading and talking in the sun

The pretty Davis girls

Dad getting the boat ready
The boys all dressed up to go into town for the priesthood session of conference

Brother Davis with his daughters
The crew watching conference. We even layed out by he river during a session of conference and listened to it on the car radio. That was bliss. Conference always seems to be exactly what i need to hear and it was nice to be able to talk with friends about what we got out of each session.
Another boat load of kids ready to go

I got out in the first round of Around the World and had to lay under the table for the rest of the round as punishment, and we all know how much I love losing.
Around the World
Nicole gave haircuts by the river
we had lots of fun discussions around the kitchen table and enjoyed amazing food

What a wonderful way to spend conference weekend. My vacation has just begun and it's off to a great start. The only thing that would make it better is having Jesse here.
