Don't all boys want to be astronauts when they are little? Since I started dating Jesse 6 years ago I knew I was dealing with a boy at heart. That fact is confirmed everyday. He keeps things fun and playful and still holds on to his little boy dreams. Don't get me wrong... I love that Jesse is just a big kid and to be honest since I've officially emerged into adulthood with this career of mine I think Peter Pan's idea of never growing up and flying away to Never-Never Land sounds like an excellent plan right about now. Last night we went on a date night with Matt and Emma to the Riverwoods. We watched people take big falls on the wave simulator at the Beach Club and acted like big kids in the giant toy store. We ended the night eating caramel apples and watching the boys run through the water fountains. It was an entertaining free date and those don't come easy.

My day was awful! The kids were terrible and a handful to say the least, it was a long day at work, and by the end of the day I had a major headache. The only thing that could ease my aches and stresses was a hot bubble bath and prison break. Oh and ending the night with a chocolate malt from The Purple Turtle. Tomorrow is Friday....Hallelujah!
Last night we crammed in the car and headed to Salt Lake for the "cousin dinner". Aunt Debbie had us over to her house for an Olive Garden feast. It was delicious and the table-side conversations made the night even better. Our usual topics of conversation consist of the latest invention ideas that will get us rich quick and telling stories that make us laugh so hard we cry. It was great to get together with everyone and catch up and hopefully it isn't long until our next get together with the whole gang. I'm lucky and grateful for an extended family that is this close.

This weekend has given me ample opportunities to catch up on some much needed sleep, but I still feel exhausted. Friday we rode our bikes to our stake BBQ and got to spend time with our ward friends. We absolutely love our ward! This trike is a head turner, so much so that I had two people stop me and comment on how awesome my bike is. On the way home we grabbed some yummy cupcakes at our favorite dessert spot. At home we rolled out our thick memory foam in the living room and fell asleep watching Prison Break (so addicting). Saturday we went grocery shopping and ran some errands. Later we ate In N' Out with Trav, Devin, and Kira while watching the BYU football game. We all went to the BYU women's soccer game later for date night. To end the night Jesse and I rented a movie and fell asleep in the living room once again.
Our Sunday has been successful. We have attended our wonderful church meetings, taken a Sunday nap together, Jesse is working at the fireside while I am lesson planning, we are making breakfast for dinner later, and I am going to end the night with a hot bubble bath and finishing my book. Then it's off to bed early with Prison Break lulling us to sleep. Weeks are going by fast, but the weekends even quicker. I wish life would slow down enough for me to enjoy it a little more. I'm hoping by January I'll have y head on straight.

Today I'm reflecting on my busy life lately and enjoying:
-watching Prison Break at night with Jess
-foot rubs from Jess after a long day at the school
-evening bike rides
-getting my first paycheck-the fruits of my labor are sweet!
-anticipating attending institute tomorrow night
-wearing long skirts everyday
-soaking up every minute of the weekends
Labor Day weekend has been filled with activities. Friday night we had our ward camp-out in Heber that Jesse put together. It was so fun to bond with our ward and enjoy the outdoors. Saturday we browsed around the mall, grabbed pizza for dinner, and watched a movie on the memory foam in the living room. Sunday after church we had family dinner and then went on a long bike ride and played an intense game of Catch Phrase with a bunch of friends. The wives won and hubbies lost! Today I had a girls lunch with Paige and Kira and we did a little shopping after. Our night ended with Brick Oven pizza with Devin and Trav and an episode of Bachelor Pad. Successful weekend? I think so!
I'm loving my evening rides on Sunday Lovely (my trike). Evenings around 7:30 have become my favorite time because it's still light outside, but it has cooled off and is perfect for a leisurely bike ride.

We have a new addition to the family and no I'm not pregnant. I've been wanting an adult trike for a while and decided with my new income from teaching that it would be my Christmas present this year. Jesse found this antique trike on KSL for super cheap and we jumped on it. It was this old, Japanese woman's bike. She drove it around in Japan and carried her children in the back basket. I love that this bike has history and is from Japan (it even has all the original Japanese writing on it). We've been on a few bike rides now and Jesse is in the process of fixing the trike up a bit. With no time to myself anymore and the stresses of teaching it's nice to have therapeutic bike rides with my hubs in the evenings.
